As temperatures drop and carbon emissions rise, people like you are continuing to think about what they can do to make their lifestyle more sustainable.
Below are a few simplified eco-friendly tips that Greenfrog Botanic have provided for you this winter:
1. Use less energy
2. Use better light bulbs
With less light in winter, we depend more on lightbulbs for light around our homes. Regular light bulbs use a lot of energy and are hard to dispose of an eco-friendly way. Switching to LED or CFL light bulbs is better as they last longer while using less energy.
3. Give eco-friendly gifts
An extra 30% of rubbish is produced during the festive period. Unfortunately, a huge amount ends up in landfills and our oceans. You can help to reduce the amount of waste produced around Christmas time by buying from eco-friendly shops and wrapping your gifts using sustainable materials.
4. Take public transport
As always, you can reduce greenhouse gasses every time you leave the car at home and take public transportation instead.
5. Recycle your wardrobe
The fashion industry makes up 10% of the worlds annual carbon emissions and is estimated to use around 1.5 trillion litres of water every year. So, instead of buying a new winter coat or a jumper, look in your wardrobe and see if you have any old clothes that could do the job just as well.
