Why we don't use palm oil...

At Greenfrog Botanic, we use only environmentally friendly products; no nasty chemicals 0% Parabens, no SLS, no ALS, and lastly, absolutely no Palm Oil. 

What is palm oil?

Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil that comes from the fruit of oil palm trees (the scientific name for them being Elaeis guineensis.) Two types of oil can be produced; crude palm oil (which comes from squeezing the fruit) and palm kernel oil (which comes from crushing the stone in the middle of the fruit.) There are over 42 countries that produce palm oil, but Indonesia and Malaysia make up over 85% of global supply.

Did you know that Palm oil is in nearly 50% of the packaged products we find in supermarkets? Everything from pizza, doughnuts, and chocolate, to deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and lipstick.

Why we don’t use it.

Palm oil continues to be a major driver of deforestation of some of the world’s most biodiverse forests. This is destroying the habitat of already endangered species.
